Christmas Star
It was always my special job when I was little. Then came Olivia and she took the job. Now it's Wally's turn. I love that mom & dad wait for us to come to finish the tree with the star!!

Weekend with Nana
We enjoyed having Nana visit this past weekend! I didn't take pictures well though... This one of Wally and nana watching Little Bear is it 😞. (Why is it easier to remember a camera after the event?!?)

We love chickfila so much that nana had to experience it with us. Yum as always. (Thank you!). Sunday gave us a beautiful fall day for a walk around a new park.
The Saturday activity for Jay and Alex was putting up a basketball hoop. Papa had seen a backboard in someone's trash pile.... One man's trash is another man's treasure!! He also had a hoop for us, so instead of over $100 we spent $15!! 😃
Now to teach the rules and good sportsmanship ... An adventure in itself.

Field Trip
Monday was homeschool day at the missouri history museum. We packed our van full of friends, and had a great field trip day. There was a lot of hands on displays for the kids to learn from.
The second picture (can't figure out how to get my cursor there on this new blogger app) is from an ad - homes for sale for large families only! What a fun (loud&crazy?!) neighborhood that must have been!!

Life In Missouri
Whew... it's sure been a long time since I've blogged. It's been a long time since Kara (www.pinkcupcakefabric.blogspot.com) has too... ahem... wink wink. Olivia has started up her own blog that she's actually posting regularly on ... www.surroundedbylavenderblossoms.blogspot.com Alex has been updating his also ... www.scoutandalex.blogspot.com So I'm joining the bandwagon and thinking I'll get back to it....
First up, we've moved. This is our 5th house in 13 years of marriage. This is also the furthest away from home. 8 hour drive from grandma and grandpa's. I've got a picture somewhere, but with the pods, pads, phones, macs, and whatnots floating around here, I'm not quite sure where the pictures are. I'll work on that yet.
Our neighborhood is nice. It's fun to be able to take the dogs and little boys out for a walk and see new scenery besides just gravel and corn stalks. We went to the local pool before it closed for the season. I think we'll be asking for a membership for Christmas. It's under a mile away and we're finding that the weather here can get HOT! (well, hot for Minnesotans that is!) We've met some nearby neighbors, but not anyone with kids our ages except for Wally. He's got a little buddy right next door!
At the seminary, there are lots of playmates. We went yesterday afternoon after a great morning of school. It was wonderful to drive up and have the older 3 scatter to run and play with new friends. The playground area has a great fence to help me keep an eye on my mischievous 2 year old. Speaking of the little man, he's all about the POTTY this week!! He's loving his choo choo undies that grandma got him. He's quite an independent guy and gets pretty upset when I want to put a diaper on him at naps. I'm hoping this success keeps up!
Jay's classes started last week. I think his brain is quite overloaded already. It's so different for him to sit and learn rather than use his hands in what came so naturally and easily for him. He's hoping to get out and fly this weekend to relax a bit and do something he loves. (Alex will probably go with. He loves it - check his blog.)
I'm doing pretty well with the move and starting schooling. The kids really are very independent so that helps so much with our school days. Wally's the handful now, but I know these years will zoom by. Hezekiah's been a great blessing. His smiles are fuller and he's loving his exersaucer (thanks, NYers!). Clara is my biggest helper with Hezzie. She's holding him or talking to him about 60% of the day.
I better stop the rambles and get some rest. I'll work on pictures soon. :)
