Week in review

Last Friday we had a field trip to the Zumbro Bend Rendezvous. We visited a gunsmith, a cooper, a surgeon, a prairie home, and a blacksmith. A few of us tried throwing a tomahawk (Alex is in mid-throw in the above picture). We also learned about beading, clothing, and food preservation.

We had a spur-of-the-moment mid-week dinner date with Ma and Papa. A local radio station was recording close to our table. There was also someone signing autographs. Well, of course Mom and I were totally clueless of whoever this was. Dad got there a few minutes later and beamed a smile and a greeting when he saw who it was ...

Benchwarmer Bob played for the Vikings before I was born. :)

Yesterday we took a work trip with Jay. We made a pit-stop at the World's Largest Boot. There's a super neat display with the history of boot-making. Quite fascinating. There are also some hands-on things for the kids like a dress-up station and a magnetic puzzle of how the hide is cut into boot parts. The dress-up outfits each had different Red Wing boots to wear with them!
