While the barn was coming down, Olivia and I were busy with something else... trying to get this guy back into the fence! The electricity has been off to the fence for the winter, but now that the snow has melted Buck (this steer) figured out he could waltz right through and not get zapped. He was just roaming around the yard like a trained dog! Jay and Alex fixed up the fence so Liv and I thought we'd help and get him back into it. We managed to get a horse-halter carefully on him. But he didn't like being led with it. He sat down, he stood still, he went the wrong way, and he stood still some more. We tried for an hour with little progress. Then we decided we'd let the boys get him later. .... 5 minutes after we gave up, he waltzed right back through the fence on his own without damaging it a bit. The electricty is back on full time now and our steer are happily chomping away on grass and hay. :)
JEMs... Jay and Em's 5 treasures. This blog will share some of our family stories and adventures.
