We had the great opportunity to attend a local Farm Safety Day. The stations had information on disability awareness (above Liv is trying to put on a jacket with just one hand!), chemicals and poisons in the home, grain and grain bins, animal safety, power-take-off equipment, pinch points, ATV and lawn mower safety. An ambulance, a fire department, and a policeman were also there. We learned a lot and had a fun day with friends.
This was a super neat demonstration. Never go near the PTO (power take off)! It's the fast-moving part that connects the tractor to the implement. This stuffed pair of jeans that Clara is touching was wound around the PTO in seconds. Another huge danger we were taught is that it only takes 6 seconds to be suffocated in a grain bin. Farming is a dangerous job!!
