New additions...

I don't think I've introduced Velveeta, Trouble, and Runaway yet.  These are our newest calves.  Runaway got his name from his first night here... He jumped out of the truck and literally ran away. A long ways away.  Alex followed him for a good 4 miles through fields (thankfully, the corn was just sprouts then), over the county road, through some woods, and more fields.  He was a fast little guy.  We thought he was a goner.  Our neighbors (seasoned dairy farmers who know how to exhaust and catch calves :) ) came the next day with the great news that they had found Runaway and kept him through the night.  Jay had prayed on his way home from work that he'd turn up... Thank you, Lord!!
Trouble was a little sneaky too, but didn't quite win the award that Runaway did.  Velveeta was Clara's choice of names.  (I think we were having grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner that night.)
We let them out into the pasture for the first time yesterday.  They're adorable to watch run and frolic.  Beefy (our 1 year old steer) seems to like being the leader.  He gave a big MOOOO when any little guy tried to stray.  And he didn't even mind when one was looking for some mama udders on him!
