We had a really fun Labor Day weekend with Nana and Grandpa Mike. The weather was perfect for an at-home campout, complete with hiking and food cooked on the fire. In the above picture, Alex and Clara had run ahead and found a spot to sit and share jelly beans. Alex had more energy than anyone on this hike. He did a lot of trailblazing off the path! Olivia found many trees to climb.

This family photo was taken on a fallen tree about 4 feet off the ground. (Thus the reason I'm clutching Clara for balance. :)

After the hike and some great naps, Nana and I prepared hobo dinners to cook on the fire. YUM!!! We also had campfire pies and smores.

Alex tried, tried, tried to make his own little fire plot. He got a flame, but nothing that stayed for long.

See how dirty Alex is? He and grandpa Mike had played football, slid down hills, climbed up hills, boxed with boxing gloves, climbed trees, and did many other fun boy things!

We had a great, great weekend. We're thinking of trying a winter campout in a few months... what do you think Nana???
looks like it was a great weekend!
