We've started preserving fruits! Not from our own garden, but from a local berry patch. I tried a freezer jam rather than canning jam. For some reason, I just don't get can-jam to thicken. It's more of a syrup. Oh well... still tasty. This freezer recipe looks much thicker. I also froze some yogurt/berry puree in little containers. That will be wonderful in August!
Our garden is slowly coming along. We got such a late start on planting this year because of the cool and rainy weather. The weeds don't seem to mind though. Any organic weeding ideas besides pulling them? I put newspaper down between the potato plants, but honestly it looks like the weeds don't mind shooting through it.
